Your safety is paramount. Every profile features a "Report Profile" button. If you notice any misleading information or suspicious behavior, click report, and our team reviews every report and takes appropriate action.

Question 6

Who can see my photos and contact details?

Accepted Answer

You have complete control over your privacy. Through your account settings, you can set your photos to public (visible to all registered users) or private (hidden from everyone, only paid users can view your photo with their available quota). Your direct contact details are kept strictly confidential and are only shared when paid users view with their available quota.

Question 7

Is my personal data safe with Sangamam Manamalai?

Accepted Answer

Yes, absolutely. We use secure session management and encryption to protect your personal information. Your data is never shared with third-party marketing agencies.

Question 8

How does your matchmaking system work?

Accepted Answer

We combine smart search filters with cultural nuances. You can set your preferences based on age, education, location, profession, and community values. Our system then curates a list of highly compatible profiles that match your criteria with star compatibility.

Question 9

How do I initiate contact with a profile I like?

Accepted Answer

Click "Send Interest" to express interest — the recipient can accept or decline. To view someone's phone number, click "Get Contact" — this directly unlocks their contact details using your plan's Contact Views quota.

Question 10

How does the "Send Interest" feature work?

Accepted Answer

When you find a profile you like, you can use your plan's balance to send an interest. The receiving user is notified. If they're interested, they can accept and you'll both see each other in your mutual matches.

Question 11

How do I view another user's contact details?

Accepted Answer

To view a user's contact information, click "Get Contact" on their profile. This directly unlocks their phone number using your plan's Contact Views quota — no approval needed from the other person.

Question 12

Is there a human matchmaker or relationship manager who will suggest profiles?

Accepted Answer

No. Sangamam Manamalai is a purely self-service digital platform. We provide an advanced, automated matchmaking system with star compatibility scoring that instantly filters and displays profiles strictly based on your personal preferences.

Question 13

How are profiles verified on the platform?

Accepted Answer

Your profile is automatically activated once it reaches 90% completeness — including your photo, horoscope, education, and family details. A complete profile appears in match results and receives more interest.

Question 14

Is my personal data and communication safe?

Accepted Answer

Absolutely. We prioritize your privacy. You get 24/7 support for any technical or profile assistance, and your contact credentials are handled safely according to our strict platform privacy protocols.

Question 15

How do I upload and edit my horoscope?

Accepted Answer

Go to Profile → Horoscope tab. You'll see two interactive charts — Raasi and Navamsam — displayed as 12-house grids. Click on each house and select the planets placed there. The system validates your entries automatically. Chart images are generated in both English and Tamil.

Question 16

What is the shortlist feature?

Accepted Answer

You can shortlist (bookmark) any profile you're interested in for later. Go to Profile → Shortlist to see everyone you've saved. You can also see who has shortlisted you through notifications.

Question 17

Can I hide profiles I'm not interested in?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Tap the hide option on any profile card to remove them from all your feeds — matches, interests, shortlists, and contact views. Hidden profiles are stored in your Settings → Hidden Profiles, where you can unhide them at any time.

Question 18

How do photo requests work?

Accepted Answer

If a user has set their photos to private, you can request access using your plan's Photo Request quota (Silver: 10, Gold: 20, Platinum: 50). Access is granted immediately — the recipient is notified but does not need to approve. You can check your remaining quota in the Dashboard or Settings page.

Question 19

How do I pay for a plan?

Accepted Answer

We accept UPI payments. Select a plan and follow the in-app verification steps to complete your payment.

Question 20

What happens when my subscription expires?

Accepted Answer

Your account automatically returns to the free Basic plan. You can still browse profiles, but you won't be able to send interests, view contact details, or send photo requests until you renew. Your shortlists, notifications, and profile data are preserved.

Question 21

Can I delete my account?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Go to Settings → Account Deletion. You'll receive a verification OTP via email. After entering the OTP, your account and all associated data are permanently removed. This action cannot be undone.

Question 22

What if I don't receive the OTP email?

Accepted Answer

Check your spam or junk folder first. You can resend the OTP — OTPs expire after a short time, so request a new one if needed. If the problem persists, contact our support team.

Question 23

How do mutual matches work?

Accepted Answer

A mutual match occurs when both you and another user have sent and accepted each other's interests. All mutual matches appear in the Mutual Matches tab with a pink "Mutual" badge, sorted by compatibility score by default.

Question 24

What does the star compatibility score mean?

Accepted Answer

Our system uses Tamil Vedic astrology (Thirumana Porutham) to calculate a compatibility score from 0 to 10 for each pair of nakshatras (stars). A score of 6 or higher is considered compatible. The score is displayed on every profile card and used as the default sort order in match results.

Question 25

How is my profile completeness calculated?

Accepted Answer

Profile completeness is based on your personal details, location, education, family, physical attributes, religious/astrological info, and profile photo. Your profile becomes "active" and appears in match results once it reaches 90% completeness. You can check your progress in your profile settings.

Question 26

Can I control what notifications I receive?

Accepted Answer

You receive real-time in-app notifications for interests, shortlists, photo requests, payment updates, and contact views. You can mark notifications as read, delete individual notifications, or clear all read notifications from the Notifications tab.

Question 27

What is the difference between sending an interest, viewing contact, and requesting photos?

Accepted Answer

Sending an interest lets someone know you're interested — they can accept or decline. Viewing contact directly unlocks a user's phone number using your Contact Views quota. Requesting photos directly unlocks a user's private photos using your Photo Request quota. Only "Send Interest" requires the other person's response.

Question 28

Can I edit my profile after registration?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Go to Profile → Edit to update your personal details, education, family background, and lifestyle at any time. Keeping your profile up to date helps you appear in more match results.

Question 29

What does "Profile For" mean?

Accepted Answer

When registering, you can create a profile for yourself or on behalf of someone — such as your son, daughter, brother, sister, grandchild, or a relative. This helps families search together while keeping each person's profile separate.

Question 30

How do I search for specific profiles?

Accepted Answer

Use the search filters on the Matches page to narrow results by age, height, education, occupation, star, religion, caste, diet, mother tongue, and marital status. You can combine multiple filters and sort by compatibility score.

Question 31

What happens if someone declines my interest?

Accepted Answer

You'll receive a notification letting you know. Once an interest is declined, it cannot be resent to the same person. Focus your energy on other matches — there are plenty of profiles to explore.

Question 32

How do I reset my password?

Accepted Answer

Click "Forgot Password" on the login page. Enter your registered email address, and you'll receive a verification OTP. After entering the OTP, you can set a new password.

Question 33

Can I upload more than one photo?

Accepted Answer

Currently, you can upload one profile picture. Make sure it's a clear, well-lit photo of yourself — it's the first thing potential matches see. You can update it anytime from your profile settings.

Question 34

How do I contact support?

Accepted Answer

Visit our Contact page for phone, email, and a contact form. Our team is based in Erode, Tamil Nadu and is available to help with any account, profile, or payment issues.

Question 35

Can I change my email or phone number after registering?

Accepted Answer

For account security, email and phone number cannot be changed after registration. If you need to update either, please contact our support team with your account details.

Question 36

What does my dashboard show?

Accepted Answer

Your dashboard gives you a quick overview: interests sent and received, contact views, shortlists, photo requests, and mutual matches. You'll also see your profile completeness score and subscription status at a glance.

Question 37

How do I know if my profile is active?

Accepted Answer

Your profile becomes "active" once it reaches 90% completeness. You can check your progress in your profile settings. An active profile appears in match results and receives more interest from other users.

Question 38

Can I see who viewed my profile?

Accepted Answer

Currently, the platform does not show profile viewers. You can see who shortlisted you through notifications and who sent you interests, which are strong signals of genuine interest.

Question 39

Can I see who shortlisted me?

Accepted Answer

When someone shortlists your profile, you'll receive a notification. You can see the total count on your dashboard, but there isn't a dedicated list to browse all profiles that shortlisted you.
